Water Temp When Brewing Tea

September 15, 2011 By Cindi Neiswonger

I am all about drinking amazing tea and enjoying great flavor. I wanted to pass on a couple of tips about water temp since brewing with the wrong temp of water can really throw off your cup of tea. When brewing Green or White teas it’s important to use steaming hot water but not boiling hot. The boiling water is too hot for these delicate leaves and will bring out a bitter taste. When you brew a black, Rooibos or Fruit blend tea you want to use boiling water. If the water is not hot enough you won’t get the full flavor that you would with boiling water. We put easy to follow instruction on the back of every tin of Inspired Leaf Tea so don’t worry if you forget the details, just check the back of your tin and follow the directions. Here’s to making that perfect cup of tea an easy journey!
