Our Genmaicha Whole Leaf Green Tea is a traditional Japanese blend made with organic Sencha Akaike green tea and organic roasted popcorn rice. Grown in Akaike, Fukuoka, this particular sencha is smooth, vibrant, and full of character. The addition of roasted rice gives it a warm, nutty aroma and a comforting flavor that has made genmaicha a beloved tea for generations.
This tea holds a special story. Inspiration #114 honors Minagawa Yone, a supercentenarian from Akaike who lived to be 114 years old. She was said to have enjoyed this tea daily throughout her life. While we know good genes and healthy habits surely played a part, a daily cup of Akaike green tea certainly didn’t hurt.

l loved this one! It had an amazing roasted flavor. The green tea is smooth with no astringency. There’s also a slight buttery note in the background. So delicious!
