Warm Hug Chai
Bold, spicy, and comforting, our Warm Hug Chai lives up to its name. This original blend delivers just the right balance of heat and spice, wrapping you in flavor like a cozy embrace.
It begins with a base of organically grown, whole leaf Assam black tea, certified Elephant Friendly™. This exceptional tea is sourced from a small Himalayan farm, the first in the world to receive this certification. The farm follows practices that protect Asian elephants by creating safe, injury-free pathways through tea-growing regions.
We handcraft this chai in small batches and grind our spices fresh in-house for every blend. Warming cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and star anise are layered with black peppercorns and a touch of organic chillies to bring a gentle heat that lingers beautifully.
Brew it your way. Simmer it in milk for a traditional chai experience, or steep it in water and finish with a splash of oat milk and a drizzle of maple syrup. However you enjoy it, this cup always feels like a hug.

Available in a tin with 4.0 oz of loose tea, a tin with 12 pyramid tea bags (our pyramid tea bags are made from a plant-based fiber material and contain no plastic.), or a 9g sample packet.

I think to do this blend real justice it needs to be made on the stove top with milk rather than just making it with hot water from the kettle and simply adding a little whole milk.
This is a blend of organic cinnamon, organic ginger, organic cardamom, organic peppercorn, organic star anise and chillies, with all the spices ground in house to give you the freshest tea possible.

Bold, spicy and comforting are three words I would use to describe Warm Hug Chai by Inspired Leaf. I had this Chai straight but could see how adding milk and/or sugar to further enhance the taste profile.

This was the first time i’ve had a tea with chillies as an ingredient. I will admit I was a little hesitant when I saw there were chilles in this but I was pleasantly surprised how good this one was! I could immediately smell all of the spices in this blend as soon as I opened the bag. The first sip blew me away. It was so spicy and I love a spicy chai! I added a splash of milk and that just helped make this a more balanced chai. There also was a slight floral note in this blend that I found quite enjoyable. It softened the spice just a little bit. This chai was so well blended, creating a complex and aromatic brew that was so warm and soothing. I really enjoyed trying this one! If you like a strong and spicy chai, definitely give this one a try!

Warm Hug Chai features a beautiful blend of organic cinnamon, Elephant Friendly™ Assam black tea, ginger, cardamom, peppercorns, star anise, and chilies. From the moment I opened the package to the last moments of steeping, the fragrant warmth of the spices was absolutely intoxicating.
This chai has a flavor like no other. The spiciness from the chilies blends seamlessly with the other ingredients, enhancing the richness of the chai without overwhelming it. I’m not usually a fan of spicy flavors, but the heat in this tea is something I truly enjoyed. I added two cubes of sugar and a splash of milk, which balanced everything perfectly.
I loved it so much that I definitely want to try it iced next!

The loose leaf smells spicy and delicious. I had warm hug chai both hot and plain and hot with milk. While it has a bit of kick on the account of ginger, peppercorn, and chilis, it isn’t overwhelming to drink plain. Adding milk did smooth out the spicier notes but still made for a flavorful brew.

I brewed this chai at 212°F for 4 minutes and was greeted with a warm orange brew that looked as cozy as it tasted. I added a splash of cream, and it truly felt like climbing under a warm blanket.
There’s a little kick to it—a spice that hits at the back of the mouth. Not overwhelming, just more than I expected, in a way that wakes you up. The finish leans into star anise and cardamom, which I loved, and if you’re familiar with springerle cookies, this tea feels made to sit beside them.
One of the better chais I’ve had in a while, and the gentle anise note makes it feel a little special.

This is a fantastic spicy chai!
I was able to try this one hot and hot with milk. Brewed hot, this is quite a spiced/spicy chai. I do get a hefty amount of ginger and cardamom, and there is a spicy element added in with the chilies. I didn’t mind the spiciness–that kick that makes this quite unique. This is yet another blend that absolutely shines with milk. Things do cool down a bit on the spice front, but this is still very flavorful. I had this chai on a really cold day, and it was a perfect “winter warmer”. I’m sure this would be perfect as a stovetop chai, too!

This tea was such a pleasant surprise. It starts out smooth with a bold black tea flavor, and then a gentle spicy warmth comes through at the end. The ginger and chilies add a cozy, comforting heat without being overwhelming. If you enjoy teas with a little extra warmth and personality, this one is definitely worth a try!!
I enjoyed mine with a dash of honey and milk for a warm comforting cup!

Upon opening the package, I was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of spices—deep cinnamon, warm cardamom, a bright ginger accent, and a firm scent of star anise.
The tea liquid is a lovely copper color and the warm spiced aroma continues. It’s a bouquet of definite spiciness blended into a cozy cup. Cinnamon, ginger, and anise are the forward flavours. The chilies bring a gentle heat that blooms at the end of each sip.

The moment you open the bag, you’re greeted with a sweet, zesty, spicy aroma that feels like pulling a cozy blanket straight from the dryer. The blend itself is gorgeous, too, with impressively large pieces that make you genuinely excited to brew it up, both plain and as a latte.
I steeped two teaspoons at 212° for 5 minutes. My first sip, taken plain, started off like a classic chai… and then bam! A swift, surprising kick of heat hits the back of your throat from the chilis. That little burst of warmth sends it right over the edge in the best way.
Next, I turned it into a latte with frothed soy milk and a generous drizzle of maple syrup. The creaminess softens that chili spark just enough, and the maple brings a gentle sweetness that rounds everything out. The heat is still there, but now it’s more of a warm nudge than a bold kick.
I genuinely enjoyed it both ways, and I’m extra glad I have another package tucked away in my stash. Warm Hug Chai lives up to its name – comforting, lively, and absolutely perfect for chilly days.
